How long will it take for my garage door to arrive once I accept my quote?

Stock doors can be fitted within 1-2 weeks subject to workload. Made to order doors will take between 3 and 6 weeks to be manufactured.


How long will it take to fit my garage door?

Your door will take between half a day and a full day to install depending on size and style.


Do I need to be at home during the installation?

No, as long as the garage is unlocked, we have power and space to work. We will lock the door behind us and post the keys through when we have finished.


Do you need electric to fit the garage door?

Ideally, yes. But if prior notice is given, we can make sure all power tools are fully charged up before we arrive.


How much space do you need to fit my new garage door?

Ideally, we need two metres of space, or two large footsteps. We understand there may be fixed units or shelving in the garage and will discuss any fixed obstacles at your free site survey.


Will it cost more for a coloured garage door?   

  If you select a garage door in a shade other than white, there will be an additional cost; how much will depend on the type of door and supplier.


Does my garage door come with a guarantee?

The guarantee lengths vary from each supplier throughout the industry. However, you will always have an installation guarantee from Garage Solutions of 3 years.

Manufacturers generally offer a 12-month guarantee for moving components such as springs, cables and arms and more. The paintwork guarantee is generally 5 years and the door construction guarantee is generally 10 years. If you would like to know the exact warranty lengths of your garage door, please let us know your selected door type for this information.


Will my electric garage door work if there is a power cut?

Yes, your door will still work but you will have to operate this manually. We will discuss this with you on site and carry out a demonstration when the work is complete.


Why is there a gap under my garage door?

If your garage base is level then there will only be the manufacturer’s requirements for a gap so that the door can pivot safely. If your garage base is not level there will be a larger gap. It is important to note that your new garage door has to be fitted so that it is level and square in order to operate properly and validate the warranty.


When should I service my garage door?

We would recommend that you have a service every 6 months due to our coastal location but every 12 months is acceptable. As a valued customer of Garage Solutions, you are entitled to a free service after 1 year. Just give us a call, quote your reference number and we will book you in for a free service. Always keep your receipt as this must be produced to claim your free service.
